Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.
An important representative stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be solved quickly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
